HOUSTON – Shipley Do-Nuts, a franchisor of donut restaurants and manufacturer of specialty food products, has opened a new 60,000 square foot corporate headquarters at Cullen and Gulf Freeway in Houston. It will replace the company’s long-standing headquarters on North Main Street in Houston.
The new headquarters will feature a fully functional Shipley Do-Nuts flagship store with an indoor drive-through drive through the building that will provide a behind-the-scenes look at the company’s donut-making. The building will also house the new donut yeast mix manufacturing plant and donut innovation center, as well as offices for around 130 people.
The corporate headquarters will be renamed LW “Bud” Shipley Jr. Support Center in honor of the son of founder Lawrence Shipley, who grew the brand from a local family business to a chain of nearly 200 locations.
“Bud Shipley was the visionary behind the initial growth of the business, and it is only fitting that our new help desk, which we are building to accommodate our growing business, bears his name,” said Clifton Rutledge , CEO of Shipley Do- Hazelnuts. “I can’t think of a better way to celebrate our anniversary than by opening our head office for our next 85 years. “
Shipley Do-Nuts has more than 330 branches in nine states and plans to open an additional 300 over the next five years in Texas and the Southeast.
