Twitter’s court of public opinion can make or break just about anyone, including the fast food giants. Whether congratulated on their latest product launches or criticized for the latest ad campaign, fast food chains elicit some of the strongest reactions, good or bad, on social media.

The team at RAVE Reviews, a product review platform, decided to use Tweets from the world’s most popular fast food chains to find out how they stack up in terms of online reputation. They used the SentiStrength language analysis tool to examine over a million tweets and compiled a list of the world’s most hated fast food chains, based on the negative feelings consumers have expressed about them. .

According to their analysis, McDonald’s, Subway, Starbucks and Wendy’s have all proven to be the most hated fast food chain in several countries. But none of them hold the candle to KFC, which was the most hated brand in as many as 14 countries, and took the cake as the world’s most hated fast food brand.

New Zealand, the United Arab Emirates, France, Singapore and Turkey were the countries with the highest “hate rates” for KFC. So what were KFC customers complaining about around the world? The quality of the chain’s food, above all.

Interestingly, when it comes to the United States, a completely different brand won the title of most hated. And surprisingly, it was the Domino’s pizza powerhouse. Yes, Americans have taken to Twitter to criticize Domino’s more than any other fast food brand, and expressed negative feelings about it in up to 40% of all Tweets directed against the company, according to Blake Adams. researcher at RAVE Reviews.

The chain was becoming critical for its poor customer service, delivery issues, and missing food items from orders, among other things.

Meanwhile, Burger King can breathe a big sigh of relief: the brand no longer holds that unenviable title, which it held just last year.
